Puttin' on the Blitz

A 2000 point game with my friend Norm who was running World Eaters.  We agreed that unpainted or unfinished models were okay for this friendly game.  So that's why.

I was the attacker.

Everything started out okay as the Marines drove up the streets,  straight into the enemy's guns.

"The best defense is a good offense."  The World Eaters were set up behind some barricades, Berzerkers ready to leap over into the fray.

These two of three obliterators destroyed the land raider in one shooting phase.

The rhino transports approached the Berzerkers at close range.

Some of the berserkers.

The venom crawler followed them in.

Marine terminators, a chaplain, and an assault squad make quick work of the possessed.

At the end of round two, Marines had reached the middle of the table and held a line.

This dreadnaught and the Dark Apostle duked it out.  First round of combat brought both of them down to 2 and 1 wound left, respectively.

The brave little land speeder who could!  He didn't shoot at much, but kept up the pace and scored an objective point!

Demons started pouring forth from the advanced demon summoning dude.

After dispatching the second venom crawler, mortal wounds were scattered throughout the Marine vanguard.  Then the bloodletters came in.

Captain facing off against Lord.

What it looked like when we stopped.

We ended the game at the bottom of three.  It was tied then, and it was getting late, and we both had stuff to do the next day.  It was an amazing round two fight, though.  So bloody!  We called it a good game and a good tie.

This thug is almost ready for Frostgrave. I gotta paint the bird, do some highlights, and the base.

How do I resist naming her Sonja?

Currently on the bench. This could be an Elven band... I think they all look like they've got some attitude, like The Runaways.

Some of the lead figures date to the mid eighties.

So that's fun.
